INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, outlined the commission’s vision during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja. Yakubu emphasized the need to address long-standing challenges and modernize election management.

- Voter Accreditation: The commission proposes replacing Permanent Voter Cards with computer-generated slips or downloadable credentials to reduce costs and eliminate voter card-buying schemes.
- Early and Diaspora Voting: INEC plans to introduce early and diaspora voting to accommodate citizens unable to vote at their registered polling units.
- Unbundling of Responsibilities: The commission advocates for the establishment of an electoral offences tribunal and a separate agency to oversee political party registration and regulation.
Voter EducationINEC plans to intensify voter education campaigns to combat misinformation and promote greater participation by marginalized groups.
