Nigeria’s representatives, Edo Queens, have arrived safely in Casablanca, Morocco, for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 23.
Edo Queens’ Objective:
Become the first Nigerian club to win the trophy in the competition’s four editions.
Financial Incentive:
All eight participating teams will receive $150,000 (approximately N89 million) for participating, with increased prize money of $2,350,000 (a 52% increase from last year).
Breakdown of Prize Money:
- Winner: $600,000
- Runner-up: $400,000
- 3rd Place: $350,000
- 4th Place: $300,000
- 3rd in Group: $200,000 each
- 4th in Group: $150,000 each
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe aims to develop and grow women’s football in Africa by investing in youth academies and increasing prize money for CAF competitions.
