Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa have been sworn in as the new Governor and Deputy Governor of Edo State, marking the beginning of a new administration. The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Daniel Okungbowa at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
During the ceremony, Okpebholo and Idahosa pledged to uphold the constitution and prioritize the well-being of the people of Edo State. The event was met with enthusiasm from supporters, who cheered throughout the oath-taking process.
This development follows the end of Godwin Obaseki’s tenure as Governor of Edo State, which began in 2016. Obaseki’s administration focused on transforming Edo State into an investment hub, with projects such as the Benin River Port, Benin Industrial Park, and Modular Refinery.

As Okpebholo and Idahosa take the reins, they will likely build upon the foundations laid by their predecessor while introducing their own initiatives to drive growth and development in Edo State.
