Nigerian superstar Davido is ending 2024 on a high note with the release of his new single, “Funds,” featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck.
A Party-Starting Single
On “Funds,” Davido combines Afrobeats and Highlife elements to create a song that promises a love filled with good times. Singing in both English and Pidgin, Davido tells the story of a woman who has captivated him, and for whom he will spare no expense in offering the finest things in life.
A Star-Studded Collaboration
Davido boasts of his wealth on the song, which samples South African music legend Brenda Fassie’s classic record “Vulindlela.” OdumoduBlvck delivers his signature flow, while Chike’s melodies and use of Igbo add a more Highlife feel to the song.
“Funds” follows Davido’s chart-topping single “Awuke” featuring YG Marley. The four-time Grammy nominee recently announced his upcoming fifth album, titled “5ive,” set for release on March 14, 2025.
2024 has been another successful year for Davido, who kicked it off with three Grammy nominations at the 66th Grammys. He recorded chart-topping collaborations with Kizz Daniel and Hyce, Boy Pee, and Brown Joel before releasing “Awuke” and “Funds.”
Davido is set to give fans a show this December with a headline performance at the Fly Time Festival.
