As the 2023 General Election draws near, it is necessary to let citizens who are 18 years and above know the voting procedure. This is the INEC-approved voting procedure:
- Voting starts at 8:30am.
- Check to be sure your name is on the register of voters in that Polling Unit.
- Present your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) for accreditation using Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
- Get authenticated with the BVAS through finger-print or facials.
- Once accredited, you will be issued a ballot paper.
- Go to the voting cubicle to make your choice in secret and drop marked ballot paper in the ballot box.
- You can leave or stay 300 meters away from the voting area to witness vote sorting & counting.
WHAT IS CONSIDERED AS A VALID VOTE?
Voters thumbprints should be properly placed in their preferred party’s box.
You will stain your appropriate finger for the election with the ink provided then use your stained finger to mark the space or box provided on the ballot paper for your preferred candidate/party.
