During a condolence Visit to the late Constitutional Lawyer and Pioneer Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. Ben Nwabueze’s residence in Ajao Estate, Lagos, Obi underlined the need for Accountability and transparency in Governance.
Obi Criticized the allocation of N160 million worth of Vehicles to each Federal Lawmaker at a time when Citizens were grappling with hardship, labeling such actions as Insensitive.
He advocated for a return to the Parliamentary system of Government, which would ensure more Direct accountability from elected Representatives.
Reflecting on his Interactions with the late Nwabueze, Obi commended the Deceased’s unwavering commitment to advocating for Constitutional Amendments and genuine progress in the Country.
He lauded Nwabueze’s Consistent stance on the need for Fundamental changes within the Nigerian Political landscape.
In a similar vein, Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State paid homage to Nwabueze, highlighting the late legal luminary’s Invaluable contributions to Constitutionalism, Justice, and equity in Nigeria.
