Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and APC Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 elections, has voiced his support for Barr. Francis Obigbor as the Acting Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Sunday, Osanebi denounced the purported appointment of Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Senatorial Chairman for Delta Central, as the acting chairman. He described the move as a “clear violation of the APC constitution” and “a reprehensible assault on our party’s democratic foundations.”
Osanebi affirmed his unwavering commitment to upholding the party’s constitution and recognized Obigbor, the Deputy Chairman, as the rightful leader to steer the party in Delta State.

“His leadership and dedication to our party are commendable, and I have no doubt he will excel in this new role,” Osanebi said, expressing confidence in Obigbor’s ability to lead the party effectively.
Calling for unity, Osanebi urged all APC members, particularly those from the Ndokwa Nation, to rally behind Barr. Obigbor. He emphasized the importance of collaboration as the party works toward the shared goal of securing victory in the 2027 elections and establishing an APC government in Delta State.
This development comes amid internal debates within the Delta State APC, as members navigate leadership decisions critical to the party’s future.
For now, Osanebi’s endorsement positions Barr. Obigbor as a figure of stability, with a call for adherence to constitutional principles and party unity.
