Operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have Successfully Intercepted two shipments of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, weighing a total of 5,344.1 kilograms.
These Interceptions took place along the Epe-Lekki corridor and at Alfa Beach, Lekki area in Lagos state.
Based on reliable Information, NDLEA Operatives set up an ambush for a white truck transporting 50 jumbo bags of the illegal substance, weighing 2,434.1kg.
The Operation took place in the early morning of Monday, June 19th, along the Epe-Lekki Expressway.
The Driver of the truck managed to escape in a Security Hilux van, which was escorting the truck after the anti-narcotics Officers successfully Immobilized the truck carrying the Drug.
The following day, Tuesday, June 20th, Officers from the Marine Command of the Agency, acting on intelligence, Intercepted a boat loaded with the same Imported substance.
The boat, arriving from Ghana, was seized around Alfa Beach, and it carried a weight of 2,910kg. Two Ghanaians, Identified as Monday Saba (30) and Hakeem Kwana (27), who were found with the contraband, were promptly arrested.
In Niger state, on Sunday, June 18th, two Suspects, Abubakar Mohammed (32) and Nuhu Sale (43), were arrested along the Abuja Expressway in Suleja.
They had 31 jumbo bags of Skunk, weighing 517kg.
Furthermore, a 30-year-old woman named Amina Alilu was apprehended on Wednesday, June 21st, at Ogbogodo village, Dekina LGA, Kogi state, with 171kg of the Illicit substance.
On Thursday, June 22nd, a suspected female fake Security agent named Ogedegbe Dorcas (34) was nabbed in Ajegunle Asa Dam Area of Ilorin, Kwara State, with 30kg of cannabis.
Additionally, in Oyo state, on Saturday, June 24th, NDLEA Operatives Intercepted Segun Olajide (42) with 49.2kg of the same substance in Oyo town.
In Edo state, Operatives carried out a raid in Ekudo forest, Uhunmwode LGA, where they discovered and destroyed a cannabis Farm spanning 2.494863 hectares.
They also seized 67kg of Processed Weed and arrested six Suspects: Onyeka Onyedinma, Monday Onyedi, Alex Eboh, Edosa Imariagbe, Godbless Tunde, and Godstime Osarobo. This operation took place in the early morning of Monday, June 19th.
