In a recent announcement, the Federal Government has unveiled a Collaborative Initiative with Wema Bank aimed at establishing Digital Hubs for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in seven different States.
Vice President Kashim Shettima shared this Development in an Official Statement conveyed by his office’s Director of Information, Olusola Abiola.
The Primary objective of these Hubs is to Equip one million young Individuals with essential Digital Skills.
This Endeavor was Initiated after a Productive meeting between the Vice President and Representatives from Wema Bank.
Emphasizing the Government’s Commitment to generating Digital Employment Opportunities for the Country’s youth, Vice President Shettima conveyed, “The centers, known as FGN/ALAT Digital and SkillNnovation Hubs, will be launched first in Lagos and Borno states, with subsequent openings in Katsina, Cross River, Anambra, Oyo, and Kano.”
These Hubs, established in Collaboration with Wema Bank, hold a strategic Vision.
They aspire to Empower emerging Entrepreneurs by offering tailored Financial Solutions, Training, and support to foster Sustainable Businesses that contribute to Nigeria’s Economic Growth.
Additionally, the Initiative aims to assist Tech-savvy Youth passionate about Digital Innovations, providing them with Financial Resources, Training, and access to Vital Partnerships.

Moreover, it seeks to enable Young Professionals, particularly those deployed through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), to Integrate effectively into Nigeria’s Workforce.
The Vice President highlighted that one million Young Individuals will gain Expertise in Software Engineering, Product Design, and other Digital disciplines, while 500,000 SMEs will receive guidance in Business Development.
The FGN/ALAT Digital and SkillNnovation Hub serve as a centralized platform, offering advanced Digital Skills, Mentorship, and Networking Opportunities to Tech-savvy Youth and budding Entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
The overarching Mission is to promote Entrepreneurship, Skills enhancement, and the seamless Integration of Young Professionals into the Workforce.
The ambitious Goal is to provide Gainful Employment to one million Youths within the Digital Economy and elevate SMEs to contribute Significantly to the Nation’s Economic landscape.
