The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has granted Edo State 412 Slots for the 2024 Hajj, according to Sheik Ibrahim Oyarekhua, the Chairman of the Edo Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He revealed this Allocation during an Interactive Session with the Press in Benin.
In the 2023 Allocation, Edo State had 432 Slots, and this has been reduced by 20 for the 2024 Allocation.
However, Oyarekhua mentioned that the Slot count might be Increased if the State utilizes all its Allocations before the Deadline.
NAHCON has also announced a Deposit of N4.5 million for the 2024 Hajj, with the full Payment expected to be announced before the start of the Ramadan fast in 2024.
According to Oyarekhua, Intending Pilgrims in the State have already started Depositing money.
Some have made Partial payments, while others have paid the full amount specified by NAHCON.
Oyarekhua expressed Satisfaction with the encouraging response from the State’s Intending Pilgrims.
He Informed that Payments can be made through Bank Transfers or in Cash to the Board or designated Banks.
After the Payment is made, the Board will issue a receipt Indicating the exact amount paid, whether it’s the Full or Partial Payment.
The Chairman urged the Muslim Faithful with Intentions to perform the 2024 Hajj to start making Deposits, ensuring they meet the NAHCON deadline of February 28.
Oyarekhua encouraged Intending Pilgrims to make early Payments, emphasizing that all aspects of the Hajj Operation would be concluded 50 days before the Commencement of Hajj, ensuring a Smooth and Trouble-free exercise.
