A group of 107 Non-serving All Progressives (APC) Senators has urged Nigerians to exercise caution and allow the Legal process to unfold in the Controversy surrounding the Authenticity of President Bola Tinubu’s certificate from Chicago State University (CSU).
In a statement signed by Basheer Lado, the former Senators called for restraint, asking Citizens not to rush to Judgment or spread Negative Comments on Social Media, as this could harm the Government’s functioning and National Unity.
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that Tinubu possesses forged Certificates and claimed that the only Tinubu who attended CSU was a Female.
However, the Registrar of CSU, Caleb Westberg, affirmed under Oath that President Tinubu attended the Institution.
The former Senators emphasized the Importance of adhering to the Rule of Law during this period and expressed trust in the Judicial process to fairly and Impartially address these claims.
They lauded President Tinubu’s dedicated leadership and Integrity, stating that Allegations made by the Opposition are matters currently before the Court of Law.
Additionally, the Civil Society Organization United Global Resolve for Peace (UGRFP) called on the National Assembly to Investigate the Dispute between Atiku and Tinubu regarding Tinubu’s academic records. The chairman, Shalom Olaseni, emphasized the need for Transparency and Integrity in addressing Allegations related to Tinubu’s certificate.
Human rights Activist and Solicitor of the Supreme Court, Chukwudi Ezeobika, Alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not Conduct proper Investigations into the Information and Certificates submitted by Individuals aspiring for Public Office.
He expressed Concern that this has brought the Country into International Ridicule and cast doubts on the Integrity of its Leadership.
