Elected Chairmen and Councillors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have resumed work in some local government council secretariats despite workers’ withdrawal of services.
The APC and PDP have fought over control of local government following judgements of the Federal High Court and Appeal Court.
Also, the State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, conducted local government elections in the midst of the legal crisis, and Governor Ademola Adeleke inaugurated the chairmen, after which they inaugurated their councillors.

However, checks on Monday morning showed that chairmen and Councillors elected under the APC-led administration resumed at the secretariats in many council areas, including Olorunda, Ife-Central, Boluwaduro, and Ejigbo.
When contacted, a party chieftain, Mr. Jamiu Olawumi said all the council chairmen and councillors had resumed duty at their respective local government council secretariats.
All chairmen and councillors have resumed in all local governments and area councils in Osun State, including Irewole. The local governments and local council development areas are agog and full of life.
The security is very tight. We have responsible police officers, DSS and Civil Defence. They are doing their jobs as directed by the Inspector General of Police.
Most of the chairmen issued press releases this morning stating that their workers should resume by Wednesday. After Wednesday, if they don’t resume, they would have their job determined”, he added.
