Ondo State-based Youth Representative and Social Media Influencer, Oluyemi Fasipe, has Sounded the Alarm about a newly Devised method of Trafficking Youths from Ondo State to Burkina Faso.
Fasipe shared his concerns on his Social Media Platform and posted Voice notes, videos, and pictures from Individuals who found themselves stranded in Burkina Faso.
According to one of the Voice notes shared by Fasipe, a man based in Ado-Ekiti, known as Reggae, revealed that Nigerian Youths had been Lured to Burkina Faso with the promise of Employment in a Gold mining Company, Semafo Gold or Horizon Gold.
Reggae explained that upon his arrival in Burkina Faso, he discovered that there were no Gold mining Jobs, despite having paid a Substantial amount (approximately one million naira in CFA) for Documentation and Work permits.
Reggae also revealed that he later learned about the Human Trafficking syndicate known as Qnet, which demanded that he Recruit two more Individuals from Nigeria to continue the Chain.
Fasipe expressed his Concern about University undergraduates from Ifedore Local Government of Ondo State dropping out of school to pursue this dangerous path to Burkina Faso.
He called on Government Agencies such as the Ondo State Government, NAPTIP, NIDCOM, NIS, and the Nigeria Police to Intervene promptly and prevent more Nigerian Youths from falling Victim to Human Trafficking Networks.
Fasipe also shared Videos depicting the dire living Conditions and Inadequate food provided to the Victims in Burkina Faso.
