
7A team from the United Nations-Habitat Organisation recently concluded a three-day visit to Ekiti State, Nigeria.
The visit was part of the ongoing Partnership between the State and the UN-Habitat Organisation, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Kenya.
The team, led by Remy Sietchiping, engaged with State Officials and local Communities to assess various areas for Sustainable Urban Development.
Sietchiping emphasized the Importance of the Sustainable Urban Development project, highlighting its potential to create a more vibrant and Environmentally friendly Urban landscape in the State.
The UN-Habitat Organisation Identified several key areas of focus, including Waste Management, data collection and management, housing, urban renewal, Infrastructural development, and environmental sustainability.
Gboyega Oloniyo, the Special Adviser on Housing and Mortgage Development to the State Governor, highlighted the State’s commitment to Sustainable Urban Development Initiatives, demonstrating the Government’s dedication to prioritizing and Implementing Impactful Interventions.
