United Bank for Africa (UBA) has signed a landmark agreement to commence full banking operations in France. This move is part of President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to France, where the Chairman of UBA Group, Tony Elumelu, signed the agreement with French Finance Minister Antoine Armand .
The agreement marks a significant milestone for UBA, as it joins tier-1 banks in Nigeria with a banking presence in France. Elumelu emphasized that this partnership reinforces UBA’s commitment to seamless international banking services for its customers across Africa and beyond.
“Expanding into France is a natural progression, with Paris serving as our European Union hub,” Elumelu said. “Paris will join London, New York, and Dubai as a critical component of our unique global network.”

This development is a testament to UBA’s growing global presence, with operations in 20 African countries, as well as in London, Dubai, New York, and now Paris.
