In honor of his birthday, President-elect Bola Tinubu canceled the yearly colloquium.
On Wednesday, the former governor of Lagos, who celebrates his birthday annually with a colloquium, will age 71.
The president-elect has chosen to attend special prayers and a thanksgiving ceremony, according to a statement made on Monday by Tunde Rahman, a media advisor to Tinubu.
The statement said that prayers would be conducted in Lagos and other regions of the nation.
In each of the state’s five divisions, including the central mosque, Alausa, and Ikeja, the special prayers will be given, according to Rahman.
President Muhammadu Buhari and first lady Aisha Buhari, as well as president-elect Tinubu and his family, will also receive blessings.
