President Tinubu has nominated three candidates for the position of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for Senate approval. This move is part of the president’s efforts to fill key positions in the electoral commission.
Similar to his previous nominations, President Tinubu has demonstrated his commitment to filling key positions in his administration. For instance, he recently nominated Dr. Olayemi Cardoso for confirmation as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Additionally, he nominated seven ministers for Senate confirmation, including Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, and Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu. The president also requested the confirmation of 28 nominees for appointment as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This latest nomination is expected to follow the same constitutional requirements as previous nominations, which involve Senate confirmation to certify the competence and capacity of nominees.
