One hundred and seventy-nine Nigerian students are embarking on a Journey to Russia to pursue their Undergraduate Studies as part of the 2023/2024 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).

During a Pre-departure briefing held in Abuja yesterday, Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, emphasized the Importance of the beneficiaries serving as exemplary Ambassadors for the Country.

He stated that their selection aligns with the broader strategy of advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to Support talented Nigerians in acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, and competence vital for Nigeria’s development.

Represented by the Director of Tertiary Education in the Federal Ministry of Education, Rakiya Gambo Iliyasu, the Minister urged the departing Students to uphold good values and maintain focus on their Studies.

In his address, he advised, “I therefore need to advise you not to see this as unbridled freedom to engage in activities that would bring disgrace to you, your parents, and the Country.

Nigeria is Investing significantly in you, with the expectation that the returns will be evident in your commitment to contribute to the progress of your Nation.”

Speaking on behalf of the scholars, Moses Inalegu expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the Russian Federation for the opportunity, assuring that they would remain dedicated and not disappoint.
