The Super Eagles of Nigeria have jumped three spots to occupy the 36th position in the October FIFA rankings. According to the latest rankings on the FIFA website, Nigeria garnered 1503.29 points.
The senior men’s national team’s recent victory over Libya in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers contributed to this upward movement. The team now ranks fourth in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt, improving from sixth place in September.
The October rankings reflect a busy month in football, with 32 FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, 47 CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 qualifiers, 79 Nations League matches, and 17 friendlies played.
Globally, Argentina maintains its top spot, followed closely by France and Spain. England, Brazil, and Belgium retain their positions, while Portugal and Italy made notable climbs within the top 10.

Other notable movers include Algeria (37th, up 4), Peru (38th, up 5), Greece (42nd, up 6), and Cameroon (49th, up 4). Equatorial Guinea (88th, up 6), Zimbabwe (117th, up 7), The Gambia (128th, up 7), and Botswana (140th, up 7) also showed significant progress.
