Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of Anambra State Governor, has made an impassioned plea to nursing mothers to continue vaccinating their children against polio. This call to action comes as the world observes World Polio Day today, October 24, 2024.
While speaking at Amawbia Primary Healthcare Center in Amawbia-Awka, Dr. Soludo emphasized the significance of vaccination in eradicating polio. She noted that Anambra State has maintained a polio-free status for the past decade, attributing this success to the cooperative efforts of women in prioritizing their children’s health.

The event, organized by the state Ministry of Health in collaboration with WHO, featured a road walk accompanied by Rotary International, Awka District.
