Senate President Akpabio Calls on Wike to Establish Another G5 Group for APC’s Success in 2027

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, has called on Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, and his fellow members of the G5 to Establish another Faction within the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure a smooth path to Victory for the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential Election.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving Reception held at Wike’s Private residence in Rumueprikom, Akpabio expressed Gratitude to Wike for his Efforts to bring Justice to Nigeria.

Wike had Supported the APC’s Candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 Presidential Election, going against his Own Party’s choice of Atiku Abubakar.

Akpabio also acknowledged the G5 Governors, a Group comprising five Prominent Politicians within the PDP who opposed Abubakar’s Emergence in the last Poll.

He expressed Delight in their Presence and Encouraged them to ensure the Formation of another Group similar to the G5 in 2027, suggesting the Possibility of Expanding it to a G7.

Addressing Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, a Member of the G5, Akpabio recalled Predicting Makinde’s Future as a Governor during a meeting with the late Alaafin.

He commended Makinde’s leadership and Success.

The Event was attended by all G5 members, Including Wike, Makinde, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

Other Prominent figures present Included Ayo Fayose, former Ekiti State Governor and Member of the Integrity Group, as well as Acting PDP Chairman Umar Damagum, former Governors Peter Odili (Rivers), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), and James Ibori (Delta).
