The Senate is in a closed-door meeting to set the ground rules for the screening of President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for Ministerial Appointment.
Kukuruku News gathered that the list of Ministers-nominees for appointment has been sent to the Senate.
It could not be confirmed when the executive communication arrived at the Senate President’s Office.
There were reports that a few minutes into the commencement of Thursday’s plenary, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, suddenly called for closed-door session, where matters of urgent importance are usually discussed and modalities for addressing them are agreed to.
His call for closed-door session was consequent upon the announcement by the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele.
The move to go into closed-door session was after taking petitions, which was the fifth item on the Order Paper.
A report by Vanguard reporter who was on ground in the Senate resolved into the closed-door session at 11.59a.m.
The Vanguard report quoted a source to have said that the list was already creating problems among the Senators, which was why the closed-door sessiong was partly called.
Recall that there was a meeting the President of the Senate had with major stakeholders on Wednesday, which lasted for several hours.
The source told Newsmen that the President of the Senate was already in possession of the list, which might be read after the closed-door meeting, or next week since there would be no plenary tomorrow.
There were feelers that the list had some former Governors who had undergone routine scrutiny by the Security Agencies.
