Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, acknowledges the challenging nature of securing Nigeria but remains confident that it is an attainable goal.

Kukuruku News gathered that in his farewell speech delivered at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja on Friday, Irabor emphasised the complexities involved in safeguarding a diverse Nation like Nigeria.

Irabor also expressed his deep appreciation for the men and women who serve in the armed forces, stating that the Country could never fully repay its debt to them. Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed contentment with his contributions, remarking that he leaves the military today stronger and more resilient than when he assumed the role.

The former Defence Chief urged Citizens to refrain from actions that could undermine the Nigerian Military, emphasising its crucial role as a symbol of hope, unity, and stability that demands protection. Irabor expressed confidence in the capabilities of his successor to surpass the achievements made thus far within the armed forces.

Attendees at the ceremony included Senior Military Officials, Former Chiefs of Defence Staff, Boss Mustapha, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State.
