The Rivers State Government has taken action to Close down the Operations of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM in Port Harcourt.
The media Organization announced the shutdown through its Official X channel on Sunday.
According to their Statement, the State Government Employed Telecommunications Engineers who were accompanied by Armed Security Personnel for this purpose.
The Announcement mentioned that the Contractors disconnected the Wave guard from the Antenna on the Mast and that riggers were Observed dismantling the Mast.
Furthermore, Bulldozers were utilized to Demolish the Transmitter Complex at DAAR Communications PLC Broadcast Centre.
The Telecommunications Contractor’s representatives Informed the Organization that they were following a Directive from higher Authorities to Initiate the Demolition on Sunday.
It’s Noteworthy that in March, the State Government Issued a 48-hour Eviction notice to DAAR Communication Plc, Citing plans for the GRA phase 5 Ozuoba Area.
