President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters in Abuja to unveil the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex. The president’s arrival was at 12:08 pm, where he was received by Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, and Kemi Nandap, Comptroller-General of Immigration.
Key Features of the Technology Innovation Complex
- Command and Control Centre: For regular migration
- NIS Data Centre: For data storage and processing
- ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre: For producing biometric cards
- Interior Data Centre: For data storage and processing
- 0.5KW Solar Power Plant: For providing renewable energy
Purpose of the Technology Innovation Complex
According to Kemi Nandap, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, the complex will help ascertain the risk level of persons entering the country, detect irregular migration patterns, and monitor unmanned borders in hard-to-reach areas nationwide.
