
Special Duties and Domestic Affairs Aide, Toyin Subaru, assures Nigerians of a reduced Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) price at N230 per kg through the Introduction of 11,500 Gas-powered buses across the Country next week.
This move aims to alleviate current Transportation challenges and promote CNG as an alternative to Petrol.
Subaru made this Declaration during a Stakeholders’ meeting at the Bank of Industry headquarters in Abuja.
The Initiative, in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology and FEMADEC group, seeks to establish sustainable Transportation in Nigeria.
Highlighting the benefits of the CNG plan, Subaru emphasized the Cost-effectiveness of CNG compared to Petrol, estimating that it could help Individuals save two-thirds on Transportation Costs.
He also outlined plans to create an App to locate CNG Stations and a Vision to have one million CNG Vehicles on Nigerian roads by 2027.
Programme Director of the Presidential CNG Initiative, Micheal Oluwagbemi, further reiterated the plan to set up 1000 conversion Workshops Nationwide.
This move is expected to provide over 50,000 Jobs and mitigate the Impact of Subsidy removal.
Oluwagbemi pointed out the Intention to launch 55,000 CNG conversion kits for existing Petrol-dependent Vehicles within the timeframe specified by the President.
He also pointed out the establishment of additional Workshops in Collaboration with Stakeholders to expedite the conversion process and create more Job Opportunities.
