The Osun State Police Command has arraigned three suspects in connection with the theft of two motorcycles in the Maboreje, Ikirun Area of the state.
KUKURUKU Online learnt that the suspects were apprehended following multiple reports of missing motorcycles over a four-month period, prompting swift police investigation into the matter.
The spokesperson for the state command, Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed in a statement on Friday that, acting on credible intelligence in March, one of the stolen motorcycles was recovered from two suspects identified as Idowu Ajala and Maruf Ajala.

Ojelabi stated that, “Following complaints from residents of Maboreje, Ikirun, lodged at the Ikirun Police Area Command on 23rd December 2023 and 24th March 2024 respectively, it was reported that a blue TVS ‘lady’ motorcycle with registration number KNR 759 UM and another TVS motorcycle with registration number FNN 898 QE were stolen from the aforementioned locations.
“The command continued its investigation and, on 8th May 2025, acting on a tip-off and through an intelligence-led operation, detectives attached to the CP’s monitoring unit arrested one Ajala Idowu, male, aged 40, and his elder brother, Ajala Maruf, male, aged 56, with one of the stolen motorcycles in their possession.”
The brothers claimed they had purchased the motorcycle via Facebook from a seller identified as Ibrahim Idris, who, according to police investigations, is a motorcycle mechanic.
With the investigation now concluded, all three suspects were arraigned for their involvement in the theft.
The Police Public Relations Officer added that the transaction was allegedly conducted through the Facebook account of the younger brother, ‘Ajala Idowu’.
Further discreet investigation led to the arrest of Ibrahim Idris, male, aged 28, a native of Ibadan in Oyo State, who works as a motorcycle mechanic.
Investigations have been concluded and the suspects have now been charged to court.”
