The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has extended his warmest felicitations to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the joyous occasion of his 88th birthday.

In a congratulatory message released by his spokesman, Gyang Bere, on Wednesday, Mutfwang described Obasanjo as a reservoir of knowledge, a statesman of immense wisdom, and a mentor to numerous Nigerians, both in the military and in the democratic space, where he played a pivotal role in nurturing leaders.

He praised Obasanjo’s steadfast commitment to national unity and peace, emphasising that his selfless service to Nigeria and humanity remains a testament to his enduring legacy.

The governor also commended the remarkable contributions of the former President, noting that his leadership between 1999 and 2007 laid a strong foundation for the nation’s democratic, economic growth, security framework, and overall stability.

Describing Obasanjo as a symbol of hope and a solution-driven leader, the governor acknowledged his relentless pursuit of strategies to address Nigeria’s socio-political and economic challenges.

Reflecting on his moral influence, Mutfwang expressed delight in Obasanjo’s active encouragement of the Church, particularly in promoting the gospel of salvation.

He also appreciated his invaluable role in fostering peace in Plateau State, particularly during the 2024 Plateau Peace and Unity Christmas Carol.

On behalf of his family, the government, and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang heartily congratulated General Olusegun Obasanjo on his birthday, praying for God’s continued blessings, good health, and strength as he continues to offer his wealth of experience for the benefit of the nation,” the statement added.
