The Harvard Business School class of 2025 program has selected 16 countries for its global immersion course, but notably excluded Nigeria, despite the program leader being a Nigerian professor.
This was revealed by the former presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi on X on Wednesday.
Findings showed that Harvard’s Global Immersion Program offers students the opportunity to: gain insights into international business practices and cultural approaches to common business challenges, visit diverse companies, meet local leaders, and explore cultural and historical sites. Students are also given opportunities to broaden their network and connect with peers from the Wake MBA program.
According to Obi, the move highlights the display of Nigeria’s global negative image.
He said, “Unfortunately, Nigeria’s reputation and attractiveness to international institutions and investors have recently been severely impacted by major obvious drawbacks.
“The class of 2025 program demonstrates the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing between institutions and countries.”
Obi advised the Federal Government, to take note of these shortcomings and strive to improve its reputation and attractiveness within today’s global community.
