The lawmaker representing Iwajowa in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ogunsola Anthony, has called on Governor Seyi Makinde to address road infrastructure challenges in the Kajola-Iwajowa axis of the state.

Ogunsola made the appeal during the Peoples Democratic Party’s meeting held on Monday at the palace square in Iganna, Iwajowa LG.

In a statement personally signed by Ogunsola and sent to KUKURUKU Online, on Tuesday, he highlighted the urgent need for the rehabilitation of the road linking Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government areas, particularly the stretch from Okeho-Ilero to Iganna-Iwere Ile, the administrative headquarters of Iwajowa.

He also appealed for the completion of the Ijio-Ayegun Wasinmi border road, which serves as a link between Oyo and neighbouring Benin Republic.

Ogunsola said, “Our roads are lifelines for trade, agriculture, and access to basic services.

The current state of these routes is slowing down our economic progress and posing serious risks to our people.

I appeal to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to prioritise the fixing of these roads and complete the Ijio-Ayegun border link as part of his ongoing legacy of infrastructural development.”

The lawmaker’s remarks came as he joined other party leaders to commend members of the PDP in Iwajowa for their loyalty and resilience.

The meeting, convened under the Senator Alleluyah Vanguard platform, brought together key stakeholders to review the party’s progress.

At the meeting, a PDP member and former lawmaker, Senator Hosea Agboola, also known as Alleluyah, praised the dedication of grassroots members, noting that many have continued to serve selflessly without immediate political rewards.

Your commitment to the PDP, despite personal sacrifices, is truly commendable,” he stated, urging members to remain steadfast in their pursuit of the party’s collective goals.

Ogunsola also hailed Makinde’s impact in Oyo in the last six years in office, describing the governor’s tenure as a period of “unprecedented infrastructural developments” in Oyo State.

Governor Makinde’s administration has transformed our state with remarkable infrastructure projects.

These developments are a testament to his commitment to the welfare of the people and are truly worthy of celebration,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the promises made during his campaign, assuring constituents of his continued dedication to their welfare and development.
