The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration of orchestrating a Fraudulent scheme through the Introduction of a Multibillion naira Development plan.
Governor Adeleke unveiled an extensive Development agenda, estimated to cost over N100 billion, aimed at enhancing the State’s Infrastructure within one year.
The proposed Projects encompass the Construction of multiple flyovers in strategic locations across the State, including Osogbo, Ede, Ikirun, and Ile-Ife.
Additionally, the Initiative involves the Rehabilitation of 345 Health centers spread across the State’s 332 wards, as well as a substantial Investment in the provision of potable water in all 332 wards.
Furthermore, the Administration plans to embark on the Rehabilitation of 31 schools in 30 local councils, the reconstruction and maintenance of 45-kilometer roads in each council, and the recruitment of new Teachers.
Governor Adeleke said that the Administration would not be taking any loans from Financial Institutions to Fund these Projects, citing Internal savings and the curbing of Financial leakages in the State as sources of Funding.
In response, the All Progressives Congress (APC) criticized the Governor’s plan, characterizing it as a strategy devised to benefit a select group of Individuals with close ties to the Government. Conversely, the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State refuted the APC’s claims, defending the Development agenda as a necessary step towards addressing the significant Infrastructural deficits Inherited by the Administration.
The PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, underlined the Importance of the Initiatives in reviving the State’s Economy and urged the APC to adopt a more forward-thinking approach in their Analysis of the Development plan.
