The Office of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has Officially refuted the Rumors circulating on Social Media platforms regarding the closure of the Aso Villa Chapel.
Busola Kukoyi, the Special Adviser on Media to the First Lady, clarified this matter to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.
In a statement, Kukoyi stated, “We would like to firmly state that the Reports claiming the Aso Rock Chapel has been closed by the First Lady are completely False and a Fabrication.”
The First Lady did not Issue any Directive for the closure of the Chapel, nor did she request the keys to be handed over to Her.
Presently, regular Fellowships, including mid-week Fellowship on Tuesdays, are taking place at the Chapel.
However, it should be noted that the Appointment of a Chaplain for the Chapel is still pending as it falls under the Prerogative of the President.
The President retains the right to Appoint a Chaplain after the departure of the previous one.
This clarification from the Office of the First Lady aims to dispel the Misinformation and Provide the accurate status of the Aso Villa Chapel, Highlighting that it remains Open and continues to hold Religious activities.
