The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has kicked off plans to celebrate the 2023 Workers Day which is observed Globally.
In a pre- May Day lecture on Friday at the Pascal Bafyau Labour House in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Secretary General of the NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja assured the media and workers of a memorable event.
This year’s theme: ‘Workers Rights and Socioeconomic Justice’ will focus on the rights of the Nigerian Worker.
He informed Participants that, although the Union had been denied permission for access to the official venue earlier, from the Ministry of the FCT, the Eagle’s Square is now available and the Union has been granted full access.
Ugboaja also disclosed that, the event will begin with a March from the Labour House to the Eagles Square on May 1st as part of the activities to mark the Annual Celebration.
He called on Nigerian Workers to come out and demand for their rights especially as the new Government is set to take over the affairs of Leadership on May 29, 2023.
