The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has advised traditional rulers to strive toward justice as the tribunal determining the state governorship election enters a critical stage in its proceedings.
Mr Francis Orogu, chairman of the party, gave the advice while briefing newsmen on Friday, in Lafia.

Orogu accused some traditional rulers of being partisan, urging them to be neutral “in the general interest”.
Newsmen reports that, Mr David Ombugadu of PDP is challenging the declaration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the 2023 governorship polls.
Recent reports had claimed that some traditional rulers had pitched their tent with one of the parties.
But Orogu, who described traditional rulers as custodians of culture and traditions, urged them to play fatherly roles and “leave politics for politicians”.
“We have just been told that some royal fathers want to influence the outcome of the trial.
“As a party, the PDP has always dismissed this view, but recent events indicated that it has some elements of truth.
“We tend to believe because we are told that some traditional rulers have been moving around to lobby for one of the parties.
“Pictures have appeared on the media to prove this claim.
“What we are saying is that the truth should be allowed to prevail. Justice should be allowed to prevail,” he said.
The PDP Chairman expressed optimism that the party would get justice given the evidences and facts it had presented at the tribunal.
“Nobody should seek to stop someone from becoming a Governor if the electorate voted for such person.
“The State belongs to all of us. We should be given equal opportunity to fair hearing,” Orogu added. (NAN)
