The Federal Capital Territory Administration, organized a flag off ceremony for the resurfacing and remedial work of existing roads in Asokoro on Thursday 7th December 2023 the event took place at AYA roundabout Asokoro.
The Honorable Minister of the FCT Nyesome Wike flagged off the project awarded to Arab Contactors, he reiterated the Government’s trust in their professionalism and assured them that no one will be owed as long as they do their job thoroughly.
He also pointed out the issues of an alleged 10 Billion Naira contract that was earlier awarded for the project, was done in an error , he stated that the contract was awarded in 2010 for 7billion and another additional sum in 2023 which summed up to 10 Billion Naira. He also stated that he will do his best to give the entire FCT a new and befitting look.
In his welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary to the FCDA had stated that, over 20 Streets within the Asokoro district have been billed for resurfacing, he also commended this administration for it’s initiative to sustain good infrastructure within the Federal Capital Territory.
The Executive secretary FCDA who was also in attendance alongside the CEO Arab Contractors who are the official contractors for the project, pledged commitment for results and the successful completion of the project.
Other dignitaries and their representatives present delivered good will messages and applauded the FCT Administration for it’s support and proactiveness to maintain the City’s Structure and Beauty.
