
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, urged Broadcasters, producers, and Content Creators across Africa to tap into Business prospects and tackle Industry hurdles during the 2023 edition of AFRICAST.
The event, themed “Broadcast Content: Synergy, Finance, and Market,” took place from October 24 to 26 in Lagos was organized by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Idris emphasized that AFRICAST Serves as a Crucial platform for assessing Africa’s Broadcast landscape about Global Best Practices.
He noted its significant role in fostering Networking opportunities and Partnerships among Broadcasters, manufacturers, and Industry Professionals.
The Minister highlighted the Conference’s ability to facilitate knowledge sharing and idea exchange, driving Mutual growth within the African Broadcasting Community.
During the three-day gathering, Participants discussed the latest Developments and Innovations in the Media and Entertainment Sector.
A Special Session titled “AFRICAST 2023 Content HUB” was Introduced, aiming to address Contemporary challenges and opportunities in the Broadcast Industry.
Idris also stressed the Importance of combating Misinformation and Fake news, especially within the realm of Social Media, calling on Content Producers and Professionals to support the ongoing efforts in this regard.
The Director-General of NBC, Mr. Charles Ebuebu, welcomed Attendees to AFRICAST 2023, highlighting the event’s status as a significant Broadcast and Media expo in Africa.
He underscored the Convention’s role in promoting Creativity, Innovation, and Technological advancements within the Broadcasting Industry.
