A man, Olukeye Adedayo, also known by the aliases “hrm87,” “charlotte708,” and “harlilott_716,” has been sentenced to 76 years in prison for multiple internet-related crimes, including child pornography, sextortion, cyberstalking, and online fraud totalling N721,500.
According to a statement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday, Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, delivered the judgment on Thursday, after finding Adedayo guilty on all 18 counts brought against him by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC.

According to one of the charges, “You, Olukeye Adedayo Olalekan (a.k.a hrm87, charlotte708 and harlilott_716), on or about the 13th February, 2023, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, intentionally used the Instagram virtual network to create a group ‘Expose Janjua Robin Nudes’ to distribute child pornography.”
The charge noted that the act violated Section 23(1)(C) and is punishable under Section 23(1)(e) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015.
Adedayo had pleaded “not guilty” during his arraignment in 2024, leading to a full trial that began on June 5, 2024.
The prosecution, led by EFCC counsel Bilikisu Buhari, called two witnesses: Wahid Hamidi, a police sergeant from the Serious Crime Unit of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Saidu Yakubu, an EFCC operative.
The prosecution also tendered several pieces of evidence to establish its case.
One of the charges stated that he “obtained property under false pretence” by posing online and using the false identities to defraud unsuspecting victims, activities that fall under Section 15(2)(b) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended), and are punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act.
The EFCC said Adedayo was arrested following investigations that linked him to disturbing online activities involving child pornography and financial deceit.
Justice Owoeye found him guilty and imposed sentences of two years for counts one to four (procuring and distributing child pornography and cyberstalking), four years for counts five to 14 (retention and disguising of fraudulent proceeds), and seven years for counts 15 to 18 (obtaining property under false pretence).
The sentences will run concurrently.
