Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is set to crown the new Eleruwa of Eruwa, Prince Adebayo Adegbola.
A statement released by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday, said, “The grand ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025.”
Oyelade said the coronation ceremony has been confirmed by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo.

He explained, “The appointment of Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwa is a reaffirmation and dedication to preserving Eruwa’s cultural heritage and also to fostering unity among its people.
Beyond its ceremonial significance, the coronation symbolizes the collective commitment of the community to honor its historical roots and traditions.”
The commissioner, therefore, urged the residents and all the stakeholders to actively participate in the ceremony, emphasising that the event will further strengthen communal ties, leading the ancient town into a future of growth and prosperity
