The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce has arrested 84 individuals during its ongoing enforcement and clean-up operation in the Agege area of the state.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Jubril Gawat, in a post on his official social media handle.

According to Gawat, the operation, which took place on Friday, June 20, 2025, targeted several notorious hotspots in Agege, including the Railway corridor at Ojurin, Isale Oja, Oke Koto, AP junction, and other adjoining streets, where Taskforce officials encountered suspected miscreants and environmental offenders.

A statement issued after the operation read: “Lagos State Environmental Taskforce on Friday, June. 20 2025, embarked on its ongoing clean-up enforcement operation in the Agege area.

The areas visited during the operation included Railway corridor (Ojurin), Isale Oja, Oke Koto, AP junction in Agege area, and other adjoining streets where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed.

During the raid exercise, a total of 84 suspects were arrested, comprising 82 males and 2 females.

All the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.”

The clean-up exercise is part of the state’s renewed commitment to enforcing its #ZeroToleranceLagos campaign, aimed at restoring order and maintaining sanity in public spaces across the metropolis.
