Kogi CP Charges Officers to Uphold Professionalism

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, Bethrand Onuoha, on Thursday, decorated the newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ochoma Thank-God, and 38 others.

A statement issued in the early hours of Friday by the Public Relations officer, Superintendent of Police, William Aya, stated that the occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including the Traditional Chiefs of Adankolo, members of the Command Management Team, other senior officers both serving and retired, relatives and well-wishers.

“The event is a significant occasion for the police organisation, marking a time of recognition to inspire fearlessness and forge a legacy of success,” the statement read.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police, “charged the newly promoted officers to exhibit the core values of service, discipline, sacrifice, professionalism and selflessness in the discharge of their duties.”

He commended their dedication and hard work which have earned them these well-deserved promotions and further stressed that the new ranks represent increased responsibilities.

The CP expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Chairman, Police Service Commission Hashimu Argungu, for recognising officers through promotions.

He stated further that in the Police Force, higher ranks come with greater challenges, contrary to the saying that “the higher you go, the cooler it becomes.”

The recently elevated officers, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ochoma ThankGod, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Egbetokun, the Chairman, Police Service Commission, Hashimu Argungu, for finding them worthy of the promotion.

He further appreciated the CP for his exceptional leadership and outstanding legacy, while acknowledging that the new chapter is a call for them to double their efforts in discharging their mandates.

Finally, the CP thanked the invited guests for their presence, while acknowledging the support of the families and communities in the success of police operations.
