Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has strongly denied claims that his administration pays N2bn monthly to his political mentor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Reacting to allegations made by a former Secretary to the State Government, Baffa Bichi, the governor dismissed the claim as false, baseless, and politically motivated.

Speaking at the Government House on Sunday while addressing 484 local government councillors from across the state, Yusuf described Bichi as a “shameless liar” and said the accusation was “the height of political desperation and dishonesty.”

There is no truth whatsoever to the claim that Senator Kwankwaso receives N2bn monthly from the state government,” the governor stated.

Kwankwaso is one of the most selfless and principled individuals in Kano. He has never asked for a kobo from this administration, nor has he interfered with the government’s finances.”

Governor Yusuf suggested that Bichi’s recent outburst was driven by bitterness following his dismissal from office for non-performance.

You were in government for over a year and never raised these issues. Now that you’ve been removed, you suddenly find your voice? That says everything about your motives,” he said.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Kwankwaso, the governor declared that he remains committed to the political path charted by his mentor.

Wherever he goes politically, we will follow. His leadership remains our guiding light.”

Yusuf also urged residents to ignore what he called “the noise of bitter politicians who have lost relevance,” and assured the public of his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.
