The All Progressives Congress in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, endorsing their re-election bids for second terms of office in 2027.

KUKURUKU, reports that the declaration followed a well-attended caucus meeting of the party recently at the council headquarters in Gwantu.

Sanga LGA is in Southern Kaduna, a stronghold of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party from 1999 to 2023.

In the 2023 presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party triumphed when the party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, polled 445,671 votes representing 40 per cent of the votes to defeat the APC candidate, Bola Tinubu with 321,691 votes representing 29.16 per cent in the entire state.

Also, in the governorship elections in the state, APC’s Uba Sani scored 730,002 votes to defeat Ashiru Isah Kudan of the PDP with 719,196 while maintaining it’s stronghold of Southern Kaduna.

However, the APC vowed at a stakeholders meeting, which was attended by notable figures that included the Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, among other party stalwarts, including the sitting governor’s political counsellor, who is a three-term federal lawmaker, Hon. Ado Dogo; the Member representing Sanga in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Gambo Dangana; Chairman of Sanga LGA, Anto Usman; as well as APC executives, former chairmen, elected and appointed government officials, and other critical stakeholders, who all vowed that it was time to take over the council and by extension, Southern Kaduna in the 2027 general elections.

In a unanimous resolution, the party affirmed its support for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, citing the people-centered developmental strides and progressive policies being implemented under their leadership.

Speaking at the well attended gathering, the Deputy Governor, who incidentally hail from the area, praised the positive transformation that Sanga and other rural communities are experiencing under the Uba Sani’s led administration, especially through projects that drive socio-economic growth.

Balarabe emphasised the governor’s focus on rural transformation, noting her inspection of the ongoing construction of the Sanga-Jema’a road – a major infrastructure project awarded by the state government.

We are witnessing a new era of development in Sanga and other parts of Kaduna State,” Balarabe said.

The governor’s focus on rural transformation is evident in projects like the ongoing construction of the Sanga-Jema’a road, which will boost socioeconomic growth and improve the lives of our people.”

Thus, the Deputy Governor urged all APC members in Sanga to remain united and work towards ensuring the continued success of the party at both state and federal levels.

Other speakers at the event separately hailed the Uba Sani-led administration for prioritising Sanga in terms of infrastructural development, economic empowerment, and political appointments of indigenes of the area.

Hon. Audu Dogo, for instance, hailed the governor’s commitment to the development of Sanga LGA.

Governor Uba Sani has shown that he is committed to the development of Sanga LGA,” the lawmaker stressed, adding that “the ongoing construction of the Sanga-Jema’a road is a testament to Gov Sani’s commitment to improving the lives of our people.”

In his remarks, the Sanga LGA Chairman, Anto Usman, assured the visiting group that the people of Sanga would reciprocate the governor’s commitment to their development by giving him their full support in the 2027 elections.

We will give Governor Uba Sani full support in the 2027 elections because he has shown that he cares about the development of Sanga LGA,” Usman promised.

KUKURUKU further reports that the meeting concluded with a firm resolution to foster unity within the APC, recognising that cohesion and collective effort are crucial to political success in the coming years.

The APC in Sanga LGA equally vowed to work tirelessly to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in 2027.

According to Audu Adamu, a party stakeholder in the area,

The endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Sani by the APC in Sanga LGA is a significant development in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.

It demonstrates the party’s commitment to the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani and its determination to work together to achieve its goals,” he pointed out.
