Just In: Tragic Loss As Anambra Senator Passes Away Weeks After Celebrating Birthday

Senator Annie Okonkwo, a former legislator who served as the representative for Anambra Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, has passed away at the age of 63.

Kukuruku News gathered that the lawmaker died in the United States following a prolonged struggle with a terminal illness.

A family member, speaking anonymously with newsmen , confirmed the news of his demise.

Recall that the late Senator recently marked his 63rd birthday on May 23, 2023. In 2007, he was elected under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone in Anambra State.

It was revealed that he had been making progress in his recovery after receiving treatment in the United States but experienced a setback a few days ago, resulting in his passing yesterday. Further information and arrangements will be disclosed to the public following family discussions and meetings. Senator Okonkwo’s son, Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, is the Member-Elect for the Idemili North and Idemili South Federal Constituencies in Anambra State’s House of Representatives
