Manchester United Football Club has terminated Erik ten Hag’s contract as manager, effective immediately, according to a statement released by the club on Monday.
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United Men’s First-Team Manager,” the statement read. “Appointed in April 2022, Erik successfully led the club to two domestic trophies, securing the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.”

The club expressed gratitude to ten Hag, stating, “We appreciate everything Erik has accomplished during his tenure and wish him well for the future.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, until a permanent replacement is appointed.
