The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate, Umar Mohammed Bago, as winner of the governorship Election in Niger State.
The State Collation Officer, Professor Clement Allawa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, University of Abuja, while announcing the result, said Bago scored 469, 896 votes to defeat the People Democratic Party, Isah Liman Kantigi, who polled 387, 476.
The APC candidate won in 20 Local governments out of the 25 and the PDP candidate won in five local governments.
He explained that the total registered voters in the state was 2, 698, 344, while 899, 488 was accredited for the election.
