Following his defeat in the Imo State governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has returned to his duty post as the party’s national secretary at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

This was made known in a video shared on the PDP’s X page on Tuesday.

The video was captioned, “Elated Staff of the National Secretariat of the #OfficialPDPNig welcome the National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, as he arrives his office at the National Secretariat today.”

The video showed the jubilant atmosphere at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, as Anyanwu is warmly welcomed by enthusiastic staff members upon his return to the office.

Anyanwu came second with 71,503 votes, while the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, scored 540,308 votes and was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the declared results, Anyanwu rejected the outcome announced by the electoral commission.

It remains uncertain whether he intends to pursue legal action to challenge the results.
