Determined to bring home the dividends of democracy to the electorate, Hon. Terseer Ugbor, Member representing Kwande-Ushongo, Federal constituency of Benue State at the National Assembly has disclosed that he intends to initiate legal frame works at the 10th National Assembly in the green chambers to help set up food processing plants and storage facilities for perishable agro-produce from Benue in the Kwande –Ushongo Federal Constituency.
Speaking on the ‘Abuja Review with VC Collins’ a political and current affairs program on Kukuruku 105.9FM Abuja, Hon. Terseer Ugbor mentioned that he will work with the Federal Government to make the most of the agro-resources and tap the solid minerals resources for economic growth and development of the Kwande Ushongo constituents.
Hon. Ugbor further stated that with his mandate as a Federal legislator he will drive for a bill on the responsibility in the management of waste; a process to ensure the re use of waste like plastic bottles recycled for job creation.
Also, the Federal law maker revealed that he will support the policy by the Federal Government in pushing for state police in devolving the police system.
‘’I will move a private member bill in favour of state police; that the Governors can command a state police but the Federal Government would supervise to check the abuse of powers for witch hunt of political rivals by Governors’’.
Reforming the National Youth Service Corps Scheme to be more involved in community policing and the use of vigilante for local policing would connect the Nigerian you to the government, Hon. Terseer Ugbor noted.
He stressed that this will help to effectively manage crime in the State and Local Government.
Interestingly, Hon. Ugbor contended that Nigeria needs to expand her economy with more borrowings through NEXIM,EXIM, AFDB with other African countries with the unification of a single African economy to negotiate on the international market to access big funds to jumpstart her economy by channeling such loans into industrialization and more productive sectors for poverty reduction.

‘’Many countries depend on loans to develop their economies and Nigeria needs to move her budget to $100 Billion a year in order to take big steps in education, healthcare, self-reliance to end the chain of poverty in Nigeria’’.
Earlier, the Member of Parliament commended President Tinubu for demonstrating a bold political will as a great leader in his appointment of Sen(Dr). George Akume as SGF of Nigeria.
‘’Sen. George Akume is a round peg in a round hole, with the requisite background as an accomplished civil and public servant who has been an impactful political actor in Nigeria since 1999,his appointment from the North Central as SGF confirms his position as the leader of Middle belt politics in Nigeria’’.
Hon Ugbor , also said President Tinubu’s disposition on subsidy removal shows his preparedness for the leadership Nigeria yearns for.
‘’President Tinubu’s boldness in dealing with fuel subsidy which gave room for corruption and smuggling and the rip off it was, on the Nigerian economy in the guise of an unending narrative on palliatives of fuel subsidy is salvaging for Nigeria and I am certain his bold political will, will get Nigeria out of the whole’’
Hon. Terseer Ugbor concluded that Governor Hyacinth Alia was spot on with sacking the appointments and contracts that were awarded by his predecessor Ortom, especially when the back log of 11 months salaries owed the Benue civil servants by Ortom remained unpaid before he handed over to Rev. Fr. Ali.
He described June 12,2023, Democracy day celebration as victory for democracy and gains for the Nigerian project.
‘’ There were many trials and tempting times in the face of the doomsday prophecy of the truncation of the Nigerian project and her democracy since 2015, speculation was even rife that a leadership succession crisis will spring up before May 29,2023 handing over to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but at last democracy thrives on and Nigeria has won’’
