Hon. Sesoo Ikpagher Vows To Influence Tinubu’s Foreign Policy For Socio-economic Development, Applauds Fg Over Local Government Autonomy, Says Best For Grassroot Development.
Determined to ensure the socio-economic development of Nigeria and West African democracies,
the Chairman of the Nigeria-Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group Committee and Member representing Vande-Ikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Sesoo Ikpagher has disclosed his resolute committment with Members of his Committee in influencing the foreign policy of the Tinubu Presidency positively.
Whilst speaking at the 10th House of Representatives’ inaugral meeting of the Nigeria-Senegalese Parliamentary Friendship Group on Thursday 11th July,2024, Hon.Engr. Sesoo Ikpagher said that the creation of the group was a demonstration of the commitment of the 10th House of Representatives to her legislative agenda in giving filip to the foreign policy of the Renewed Hope led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


“The Nigeria-Senegal Parliamentary group is positioned to strategically expand Nigeria’s legislative relationship with their Senegalese counter parts through various avenues of collaborative communication and engagements to foster understanding and cross pollination of well thought out ideas to enhance capacity and improve the effectiveness of members in parliamentary service for nation building and socio-economic development”
In a related development, Ikpagher in a chat also commended the Tinubu led Federal Government over the Thursday 11th July,2024 Supreme court verdict over the autonomy of Local Government Administration in Nigeria.
” This verdict will bring good governance and the dividends of democracy to the grassroot unhindered.
Ikpagher insisted that the drive by the Tinubu led FG to achieve victory for Local Government autonomy is indicative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s resolve to pull Nigeria out of the woods. Ikpagher emphasised that the administration of Local Government with financial autonomy devoid of interference from State Governors is best for socio-political and economic development of Nigeria as Africa’s biggest democracy.


Interestingly, Hon.Engr. Sesoo Ikpagher, Member representing Jechira Federal Constituency stressed that the socio-economic experiences of the West African sub-region has given rise to the need for legislative co-operation and engagement between member states.
” The synergy from the Parliamentary Friendship Group shall remain a springboard and catalyst for the improvement of socio -political and economic standing of countries in the West African sub-region given our shared experiences”.
In delivering his opening remarks at the inaugral meeting of the Nigeria-Senegalese Parliamentary Friendship Group,Committee,
Hon. Engr. Sesoo Ikpagher, Chairman of the Nigeria-Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group Committee, enjoined members of the Committee to work as a team to bring into fruition the enhanced mandate of the Parliamentary Friendship Group using their competences and capacities.

” I urge my esteemed colleagues to bring their experience,knowledge,passion, commitment, capabilities and calacities to enable the Parliamentary Friendship Group reach her goals, Ikpagher concluded.
Members present at the inaugral meeting were Rt. Hon. Muhammed Garba,Deputy Chairman,Hon. Arc. Austin Asema Achado,Hon. Aliyu Bappa Misau, Hon.Saba Ahmed Adamu and Rauf Olarenwaju as Secretary/Clerk of the Committe.
Earlier, Chairman of the Nigeria-Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group Committee, Hon. Sesoo Ikpagher thanked the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass for the opportunity to lead the charge and deliver.

Tajudeen Abass for the confidence reposed in me on delivering on this assignment, and I promise to foster team spirit and co-operation within members of the Committee to achieve her mandate, Ikpagher concluded.
