A member of the National Assembly, representing Oyo South Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress, Sharafadeen Alli, on Thursday, “Congratulated Muslims nationwide, especially in Oyo State, on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447 AH.”

Alli, in a statement released by his Media Office in Ibadan, the state capital, on Friday, described the occasion as “A time for deep reflection, spiritual renewal and renewed commitment to the values of peace, justice, and communal progress.

“I want to also urge you to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful for a brighter future.”

He urged them to draw lessons from the historic migration (Hijrah) of the Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah.

The lawmaker further said Hijrah symbolises courage, sacrifice, perseverance and unwavering faith in Allah.

Alli called on them to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to nation-building by promoting love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence in their communities.

He noted that Nigeria was going through critical challenges, calling for prayers and collective efforts toward unity, peace, and sustainable development.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to policies and initiatives that would improve the living conditions his Senatorial District, the state and Nigeria.

Alli pledged to continue advocating for better education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic opportunities for all, especially the vulnerable.

He prayed that Allah would grant Nigeria a year filled with peace, progress and prosperity.
