Gunmen have abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ose Local Government Area of the state, Nelson Adepoyigi.

Adepoyigi, who is the chairman of APC in Ifon Ward 5 in Ose Local Government, was reportedly abducted along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway on Monday evening.

At the time of filing this report on Tuesday, the details of how the incident occurred were still sketchy.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the politician was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm.

Ayanlade said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.

At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local VGN and Nigeria Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”

The command urged anyone with information that could aid the rescue operation to come forward.

Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities
